Operating X-ray Equipment:
Proficiency in using and maintaining various X-ray machines, including setting exposure factors, adjusting collimation, and performing quality control checks.
Image Processing and Evaluation:
Understanding image processing techniques, troubleshooting image artifacts, and evaluating image quality to ensure diagnostic suitability.
Radiation Safety:
Knowledge of radiation safety principles, proper shielding techniques, and protocols to minimize patient and staff exposure.
Understanding of Anatomy and Medical Terminology:
A strong foundation in human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential for accurate patient positioning and understanding imaging requests.
PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System):
Familiarity with PACS systems for managing and archiving patient images
Patient Positioning:
Skill in positioning patients correctly for various X-ray procedures, ensuring optimal image capture and minimizing patient discomfort.
Patient Care:
Providing compassionate and empathetic patient care, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient concerns.
