Therapy Technician
Hiring for work in Jasper, Effingham, and Clay Counties

Responsibilities
Assist child in learning process during functional learning activities and therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed clinician and the direction of Lead Technician
Prioritize safety of child while assisted with ADLs and facilitating communication
Communicate and collaborate with team members, which includes parents/caregivers
Primarily 1:1 assignments with occasional peer dyads and small groups.
Document daily services provided
Requirements
Must be 18 years of age to qualify for this position.
Licensure requirements:
No licensure is required upon hire. Staff will be required to get their Registered Behavior Technician and Registered Developmental Technician certificates once employed by participating in training and testing offered internally and externally by the agency.
Possess the ability to:
Travel to multiple locations
Remain present and playfully interact with others
Take direction/coaching from supervising clinician and spend time in quiet reflection
Professionally communicate with team members (verbal and written).
Modulate and demonstrate affect appropriate to the situation to facilitate learning
Support children in ADLs, including toileting, feeding/eating, etc.
Acknowledge and reflect on childs feelings and behavior in a caring and respectful manner
Pass a background check
Remain calm, focused, and adaptive within a dynamic environment
Physical Demands:
Ability to kneel, sit (on a chair or the floor) and stand moving easily and quickly from kneel to stand, sit to stand and stand to walk positions.
Ability to walk up to a mile in distance.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds easily with no assistance from others.
Ability to engage in and support physical activities initiated by children including but not limited to jumping, running, climbing, rolling, sitting/lying on the floor, swinging.
Ability to physically support students on indoor/outdoor therapeutic equipment
Preferred Experience and Skills
Experience in an early learning environment where developmental approach is utilized.
Knowledge and expertise in child development.
Knowledge and experience working with young children and their families.
Interactive style that is playful and engaging.
Experience working on a team to provide a service to others

Terms of Employment:
Full time employee: 32-40 hours per week
Wages: Base pay of $18/hr with potential for additional compensation based on experience, licensure, performance and commitment to the position.
