Responsibilities

The Opportunity

*Role is based in Mexico City

PepsiCo Mexico Foods (PMF) Strategy function plays a critical role in developing the long-term vision and strategy for the business. We are tasked with ensuring the company sets the right priorities to stay ahead of the competition and maintain market leadership. This entails developing actionable solutions for some of the most challenging issues facing the company while also ensuring a seamless planning process is carried out year over year.

The role's main objective is to be the right-hand person of the Strategy Sr. Director on strategy projects including: PMF’s business strategy setting (Strategic Deep Dives), growth and efficiency projects, regulations impact and mitigation mapping and M&A agenda in Mexico. This role will provide value to the team by ideating and assessing complex qualitative and quantitative analysis, defining second-order implications, and achieving alignment with PMF’s Executive Committee through clear and concise storytelling via leadership-ready PowerPoint presentations, memos and business cases derived from robust analyses in Excel, PowerBI, etc.

Your Impact

As Strategy Sr. Manager your scope would consist of:

This role will be capable of driving and managing multi-functional teams in critical strategic projects alongside the Strategy Sr. Director, including (but not limited to) the following topics:

Developing, aligning and communicating PMF’s long-term strategy (3-5 years)

Orchestrating business turnaround recommendations and action plans

Analyzing opportunities for value chain and operations’ transformations

Conducting M&A analysis and due diligence while also driving multifunctional teams to understand full implications for PMF

Driving cost optimization recommendations across the business and ensuring mobilization across functional teams

Co-refining the Strategy function’s operating model

Fully understanding regulations & geopolitical landscape impacts for the business, ensuring mitigation plans are in place and with clear owners

Others (collaborations with NGOs, external consultants, etc.)

Provide thought leadership to business partners, including the PMF’s & Latam’s Executive Committee, and other operating leaders on a broad range of business-critical topics

Demonstrate strong leadership and significant influence management skills with the ability to gain credibility with Sr Leadership while challenging the status quo through comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis

Lead the planning and execution of the Strategic Deep Dive (SDD) process in strong coordination with PMF’s Executive Committee, PMF’s strategy director and Latam’s strategy team

Solve business problems through the answer-first methodology, by creating a hypothesis-based framework with defined drill-down analysis – executing actions, providing consultation

Manage multi-functional teams and drive strategic projects for PMF, ensuring timelines are met and key stakeholders involved

Proactively propose logical business solutions to strategic problems faced by PMF, backed-up by sound analysis and facts

Collaborate w/ LATAM Strategy & other functions to carry out competitive analysis & risk identification of key competitors in MX & LATAM

Facilitate C-suite decision making through PowerPoint presentations and Word memos – providing consultation

Drive collaborative projects with other functional areas always with a value-first approach

Support the Strategy Sr. Director in defining the portfolio strategy and M&A initiatives – providing consultation, and executing actions

Support the Strategy Sr. Director in revamping the Strategy role in PMF, formalizing an operating model to deliver a healthy project pipeline year over year

Coach more junior team members always looking to develop the best talent in PepsiCo

Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

Experience

8+ years of experience

Graduated from a Mexican top-tier university in a STEM degree (MBA preferred)

Experience in top tier consulting companies (CPG experience desirable)

Strategic mindset, highly structured and analytical thinker with sound business judgment

Strong analytical skills, navigating ambiguity through structured, hypothesis-driven problem solving

Team management experience, driving solid work plans in partnership with multiple business areas

Excellent skills to structure, process & analyze data and translate findings into meaningful insights, integrating relevant business knowledge & learnings from other projects/sources

Self-starter mindset with the ability to “manage up”

Can do attitude: the ability to enthusiastically and aggressively take ownership of a project, prioritize effectively, and ultimately drive the project through completion.

Global outlook with sensitivity and awareness of social and cultural differences

Spanish and English proficiency

Thinks strategically and can codify the long-term profitable growth plan for the organization

Networks effectively and builds trustworthy relationships with key stakeholders across strategic projects

Operates efficiently and effectively in a matrixed environment and demonstrates effective collaboration across multiple layers

Shows a strong ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams

Is able to communicate very complex problems and solutions simply and effectively through sound storytelling

Has financial/market analysis expertise with and eye for value
