Objective:
Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all production machinery and equipment, bulk loading system, and weight systems.
The Maintenance Engineer is expected to ensure reliability, efficiency and safety of all mechanical and electrical systems in the offloading, production and bulk loading processes.
Main Responsibilities include:
Preventative Maintenance
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for production and bulk loading systems and inform the technical team.
Conduct routine inspections to identify wear and tear and potential failures, clean equipment regularly, schedule calibration process for weigh scales and other systems.
Monitor machine performance and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
Coordinate maintenance of forklifts and generators and follow up with Providers.
Breakdown Maintenance
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Diagnose faults in mechanical electrical systems.
Conduct repairs and replace faulty equipment / machinery efficiently.
Spare Parts Management
Maintain inventory of critical spare parts.
Coordinate with Procurement for timely ordering of parts for scheduled maintenance.
Health and Safety
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations.
Conduct risk assessment and implement safety measures.
Provide guidance to maintenance team on safe handling of machinery and equipment.
Others
Supervise and guide maintenance technicians.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, repairs, etc.
Prepare reports on equipment performance and maintenance KPls.
Support plant upgrades, automation and other sustainability initiatives.
Required Education / Expertise / Skills:
Technical Studies / Diploma in Engineering or related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Good reporting skills
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
Great teamwork, communication, planning and organizational skills
Schedule flexibility required
Ability to operate forklift will be an asset
Required Experience:
Minimum experience of 2-3 years in an industrial environment
Experience in major shutdowns
Experience using SAP will be an asset
