Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques, along with experience in various pharmacy settings, including LTC (Long-Term Care) and acute care environments.
Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and ensuring patient safety during medication administration.
Maintain accurate records of medication intake and patient profiles.
Support sterile and non-sterile preparation and administration under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care through effective communication and teamwork.
Maintain clean room compliance, cleanings, and logs per schedule
Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards, including proper aseptic techniques.
Participate in inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring medication supplies.
Contribute to the overall efficiency of the pharmacy by performing various administrative tasks as needed.
Skills
Proven experience in pharmacy technician roles, preferably within sterile compounding settings.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
Familiarity with critical care practices and acute care environments is highly desirable.
Proficient in IV infusion techniques and medication administration protocols.
Excellent communication skills, with a focus on patient service and care quality.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
