Business Manager, Turbine Automation

Valmet is seeking a dynamic and strategic Turbine Automation Business Manager to lead and grow our turbine automation and machine monitoring business within the Energy & Process Systems (EPS) unit.

EPS has global business responsibility for automation systems serving energy and process industry customers. As part of Valmet’s Automation Solutions business line, you will lead the global development of turbine automation and machine monitoring solutions for steam turbines, gas turbines, and hydro power plants. In this strategic role, you will drive profitable growth by collaborating with Area Sales, enhancing the turbine automation product offering, and developing technical capabilities across Operations and Services. You will also manage an international team of Solution Managers and ensure our portfolio meets evolving customer needs and market expectations.

Location: Preferably Tampere (FI), but other Valmet offices in EMEA (e.g. PL, NL, UK, IT) may be considered.

In this role, you will:

Lead the international EPS team of Turbine Automation Solution Managers and drive global growth for steam, gas, and hydro turbine automation, as well as machine monitoring.

Define and execute strategy and business plans, identifying new opportunities with Area Sales.

Manage the sales funnel and support technical sales activities, including customer meetings and exhibitions.

Develop the product offering and roadmap with R&D, based on market insights and customer needs.

Oversee marketing initiatives and ensure delivery profitability through margin tracking and risk management.

Drive skills and capacity development across Operations and Services to support business scalability and competitiveness.

What You Bring

Engineering degree (M.Sc. or B.Sc.).

Strong experience in turbine automation (steam, gas, hydro) and control systems.

Proven track record in international business development and team leadership.

Familiarity with automation projects (greenfield & retrofit).

Knowledge of Valmet DNA system will be considered an advantage.

Excellent communication skills in English (other languages will be considered a plus), and a collaborative mindset.

Willingness to travel and continuously learn.
