Manufacturing Operations Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our operational processes at Neenah, WI location. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a strategic mindset to drive business development and process improvement initiatives. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing teams of approximately 35 employees, ensuring profitability, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Planning:

Create production schedules that align with customer needs, facility capabilities, and financial planning.

Set production targets and develop strategies to achieve them while staying within budget.

Work closely with sales department to properly plan material, labor, and overhead to meet/exceed production revenue and cost goals.

Operations:

Oversee the production, fabrication, machinery, processing, packaging, and shipping departments.

Provide leadership and direction to the production manager and floor staff to ensure safe and efficient working operations

Safety:

Create and maintain a safe work environment for employees and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.

Perform daily walks throughout the entire plant site to identify and correct potential safety issues.

Quality:

Drive quality initiatives that ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.

Monitor production equipment to ensure it's in good working order and repair or replace it when needed.

Ensure all products leaving the site meet all quality and delivery requirements.

Delivery:

Ensure 100% on-time delivery to customers with the right products and quantities requested.

Cost:

Manage cost structures by keeping operational expenses within budget and investigating cost-reduction measures.

Drive initiatives to eliminate customer returns and the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).

Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience

Proven experience in management, with a strong track record of leadership in an operational role.

Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and execution within a business context.

Solid understanding of profit & loss management principles.

Experience supervising teams, with the ability to motivate and develop talent effectively.

Strong background in business development, project management, and process improvement methodologies.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Proficiency in analyzing data to inform decision-making processes.

Education and Certification

10+ years in a Management/Leadership position within a production/manufacturing environment

Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent applicable experience

MBA is a strong plus
