WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Would you like to deepen your theoretical knowledge in CFD modeling and gain valuable practical experience? Our team, which specializes in the engineering aspects of process and plant safety, is looking for dedicated students for an internship with the option to pursue a subsequent thesis. Take this opportunity to become part of a globally connected team and contribute to an exciting project with a scientific focus.

You will model mass transfer from a free liquid surface into an atmospheric boundary layer using the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software FLACS.

Additionally, you will quantify the relevant influencing factors on mass transport through a parameter study. This includes developing a suitable simulation setup, validating it against experimental data, and creating a simulation plan for optimized execution of the study.

You will automate the workflow and evaluation using the Python API in FLACS.

Finally, you will assess various mass transfer correlations from the literature, taking into account the results of the parameter study.

WHAT YOU OFFER

excellent knowledge in process engineering modeling with CFD, as well as in heat and mass transfer

solid experience in data processing and process automation using Python

confident use of AI-based assistants such as GitHub Copilot

strong problem-solving skills and a structured, independent working style

confident communication in international teams in both German and English
