Job Title: Safety Supervisor

Industry: Food Packaging

Job Location: Houston, Texas (Baytown area)

Employment Type: Full-Time, on-site in the manufacturing plant working with operations

Overview: The Safety Supervisor will oversee all safety-related activities at the Baytown Packaging Plant, a non-PSM facility. The ideal candidate will build on our existing safety practices while driving the transition from a reactive to a proactive safety culture.

Job Description:

Oversee all aspects of the facility’s safety program, including policies, training, compliance, and audits.

Inspire the team to become more safety conscious and not view safety as a burden.

Conduct regular risk assessments and job safety analyses (JSAs) on packaging lines and related equipment.

Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with OSHA, federal, state, local and company standards.

Lead incident investigations and develop corrective and preventive action plans.

Manage and maintain safety records, including injury logs, training documentation, and compliance reports.

Coordinate safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation, machine safety, and emergency response.

Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment, work areas, and practices to identify hazards.

Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure proper guarding, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and machine safety practices.

Serve as the facility’s main point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or inquiries.

Monitor and track safety KPIs and lead regular safety committee meetings.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety within a production facility.

Experience with 5S.
