The New York State Unified Court System, Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, Third Judicial Department, is currently seeking applicants in the Appellate Law Typist Series.

There are two (2) positions available that will be filled in either of the following titles and will be dependent upon the knowledge and experience of the applicants selected: Appellate Law Typist, or Principal Appellate Office Typist.

These positions will be assigned to the Motion Department in the Court's central staff.

Key Responsibilities: Reviewing and processing motions, correspondence, and vouchers and responding to inquiries from the public.

Handing down motion decisions and orders.Word Processing.Data Entry.Correspondence, proofreading, copying, filing, collating and other related functions.Processing filings and managing tasks in the New York State Courts Electronic Filing System.Other related duties that may be assigned by the Clerk of the Court or his designee.

Qualifications: Appellate Law Typist: One year in the Principal Appellate Office Typist or Principal Appellate Office Stenographer title; or Two years in the Senior Appellate Office Typist or Senior Appellate Office Stenographer title; or High school diploma or the equivalent and three (3) years of relevant typing and clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Base Salary: $55,009 Principal Appellate Office Typist: One year in Senior Appellate Office Assistant, Senior Appellate Office Typist or Senior Appellate Office Stenographer title, or High School diploma, or the equivalent and three (3) years of relevant clerical experience, or Associate's degree, or completion of the equivalent course credit towards a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
