Salary: $274 per weekend
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide spiritual leadership, care, and guidance to campers in various camp centers. This is a position used for various roles around camp including program, recreation, retail, guest dining, and operations. This is our only application for winter residential positions, after completing this application, you will be interviewed and asked your preference to be placed in the correct area or department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possesses knowledge of and applies all information stated in the staff manuals
Provides for the safety, care, nurturing, and supervision of each camper in his / her care, especially during sleep periods
Sets a personal example worth of campers emulation
Participates in all camp activities, assisting program staff by maintaining control of assigned campers and provide assistance as needed
Depending on which camp assigned to, leads daily small group Bible studies with campers in cabin
Commits to be concerned about the spiritual life of each camper and to pray for each camper each day
Demonstrates a teachable spirit and attitude
Maintains relationships with campers throughout the week by spending appropriate focused time with each camper
Establishes friendly but firm methods of discipline
Demonstrates flexibility and customer service when serving in other capacities (recreation, food service, etc.)
Maintains a positive attitude toward activities, staff, and program elements
Assists in non-program areas when not needed as a counselor
Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to provide service with integrity
Good verbal and written communication skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, which requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate office machines. Requires medium to heavy physical work; some lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 30 pounds. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers, as well as speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud at times.
