Procurement Business Partner

We’re looking for a Procurement Business Partner for our public sector client based in London or Manchester on an initial contract paying up to £500 per day Inside IR35 on an initial 4 month contract with the potential to extend.

This role allows hybrid working, with an expectation to attend the office 2 days per week (up to 3 if required).

You will need proven public procurement experience, ideally within central government, with the ability to run competitions in line with PCR 2015 and provide expert commercial assurance.

The successful Procurement Business Partner will be responsible for:

• Leading procurements of varying complexity, often against tight timelines, in line with Public Procurement Regulations.

• Supporting wider procurement operations and providing professional advice to senior stakeholders.

• Delivering innovative commercial solutions that balance value for money, compliance, and risk management.

• Advising on and undertaking contract management activities, including supplier relationship management.

• Drafting MoUs, licences, and other agreements as required.

• Managing consistent commercial policies and processes across the department in line with Managing Public Money.

• Acting as a key adviser to the Commercial Directorate, providing assurance and representing the function internally and externally.

• Supporting the development, training, and high performance of staff in the commercial team.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

• Strong knowledge and application of Public Procurement Regulations (PCR 2015).

• Demonstrable experience of running open competitions.

• Experience with Atamis (sourcing portal).

• Proven public sector procurement experience across a range of categories.

• Ability to identify and manage risk across the commercial lifecycle.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to provide clear, concise advice at a senior level.
