SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible to assist in set-up of simple jobs and operation of CNC equipment, tooling maintenance, and ensuring that all required processes are completed to produce parts that meet quality and ISO standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \nAssist in set-ups of simple (uncomplicated and straightforward) jobs and operate conventional, special-purpose, and computerized numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts and fits and assemble machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.

Able to run multiple machines at one time.

\nReview and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.

\nSelects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and tooling pre-setter.

\nVerifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.

\nMay fit and assemble parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, hand tools, and power tools.

\nVerifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.

\nMay be responsible to operate CMM.

\nChecks for machine readiness to ensure functionality and performance.

\nConfers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

\nResponsible to comply with company requirements to complete essential documentation as required.

\nAssure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury.

\nMaintain a clean work area and assure safe operation of all equipment.

\nMust be available on reasonable notice for unscheduled overtime to meet production schedules.

\nPerform and document Operator Preventive Maintenance operations, as needed.

\nAssist production in all areas.

\nAssist with tooling / fixturing build.

\nOccasionally, miscellaneous non-recurring duties may be assigned such as, but not limited to, packing, shipping, unpacking and sorting, inspection, cleaning, finishing, deburring, etc.

\n\nEXPERIENCE / EDUCATION: \nHigh School graduate or equivalent.\n0-2 years previous machining preferred.\n\nSKILLS: \nAbility to work with general supervision.\nExcellent problem-solving skills.\nAbility to be a team player.\nAbility to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.\nAbility to read blueprints.\nKnowledge of GD&T.\nBasic knowledge of at least one machining principal required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time (for Maintenance & Receiving only).
