With your expertise, you will help us strengthen our safety culture and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. You translate policies into practical solutions on the shop floor, guide colleagues and supervisors, and launch initiatives that support sustainability and continuous improvement.
In short: you make sure that everyone at Sonoco can work every day in a safe, healthy, and future-oriented environment.
What will you do?
In this role, you combine policy-related responsibilities with hands-on follow-up on the shop floor. Your key tasks include:
Monitoring and implementing EHS legislation and internal guidelines
Developing and coordinating safety and environmental procedures
Organizing training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns
Supporting supervisors in guiding and coaching their teams on safety and well-being
Following up and analyzing incidents, accidents, near-misses and ensuring corrective actions
Coordinating inspections, audits, and risk analyses
Initiating projects on sustainability and environmental impact (energy, waste, emissions)
Reporting on EHS performance and actions to management and employees
What do you bring?
You combine technical knowledge with a people-oriented approach. You are detail-minded but above all know how to engage colleagues in the story of safety, health, and sustainability.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in a technical or prevention-related field
A recognized Prevention Advisor certificate (level 2 or 3), or the willingness to obtain one
Experience in safety, health, or environment within a production or industrial setting is a plus
Strong communication skills: you know how to convince, coach, and motivate colleagues
An analytical yet practical mindset: you spot improvement opportunities and turn them into concrete actions
Fluency in Dutch and English
What do we offer?
