INTERN HSEQ Advisor

Student Vacation Program – Bachelor Of Engineering, Mining engineering

As part of our commitment to nurturing future talent, Macmahon is offering one for the 2025/2026 summer period. These roles are ideal for current university students with a keen interest in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) and a strong passion for safety and continuous improvement.

Join our Vacation Student Program and gain practical experience across our Surface sites in Western Australia. This structured 10–12-week program is designed to provide hands-on exposure to HSEQ operations, helping you build a solid foundation for a career focused on safety leadership and operational excellence.

About the role:

The HSEQ Vacation student position will provide hands on experience and assist with reporting and analytics, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations. The position will be based out of Macmahon's Head Office in Perth on a 5:2 roster, with some site travel.

Who we are looking for:

Students studying Bachelor of Science Health, Safety and Environment

About You:

Assisting with HSEQ inspections and reports

Assisting with incident investigations and reporting

Data entry into Macmahon's INX InControl System

Analysing and reporting data out of INX InControl to identify trends

Participating in HSEQ meetings

Conducting Safety Interactions

Assisting with Risk Assessments

Other project assistance as required.

The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science, Health, Safety and Environment, or a related field, and in their second last or last year of study. You will demonstrate

strong problem-solving skills and an ability to communicate and engage with multiple stakeholders and workers across the business.
