Job Description

Join a Mission that Matters!

Empower Students with Autism and Developmental Disabilities to Learn, Grow, and Thrive

At Ädelbrook, we’ve spent over 125 years helping children build futures filled with achievement, dignity, happiness, and hope. We create learning environments where students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) can achieve their fullest potential — academically, socially, and emotionally.

Are you a passionate educator who believes every student deserves the opportunity to shine?

We’re looking for a Special Education Teacher who can bring creativity, patience, and dedication to a classroom where individualized learning changes lives. This is more than teaching—it’s building confidence, fostering independence, and inspiring hope for the future

What You’ll Do:

Design and deliver individualized, engaging IEP-driven instruction that supports each student’s learning goals and is tailored to each student’s strengths and needs

Develop and implement lesson plans in alignment with IEPs and curriculum standards

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet academic, social, and behavioral needs

Foster a safe, structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional growth

Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to create a unified support system for each student

Use evidence-based strategies to promote learning and skill development

Track and share meaningful progress updates with families and school teams

Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school events

Support students during transitions, extracurricular activities, and when behavioral interventions are needed

What You Bring:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (required)

Certification: Valid state Special Education certification (required)

Experience: At least 2 years of classroom teaching preferred, especially with ASD/IDD

Skills: Strong classroom management, adaptability, collaboration, and clear communication

Mindset: Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the belief that all students can succeed

Training: PMT, CPR, and First Aid (or willingness to obtain after hire)

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

We believe in investing in the people who power our mission. At Ädelbrook, you’ll enjoy:

Competitive Pay – Fair, market-aligned salaries and room to grow
