JOB SUMMARY:

Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) is looking for a Digital Outreach Specialist to support the work of the our Benefits and Customer Outreach team. The Digital Outreach Specialist will work with customers answering questions about food assistance benefits In addition, you will be responsible for assisting the Digital Outreach Manager with benefits applications, compiling data for reporting purposes, data entry, and scheduling outreach appointments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interact with customers over the phone to educate on benefits and assist them with food resources.

Complete Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) applications over the phone.

Submit documentation using Ohio Benefits Self Service Portal and/or secure ODJFS email.

Inform clients of next steps and protocol and keep them informed throughout the process.

Collect, maintain, and report accurate outreach and client data.

Ensure appropriate communication between the Outreach Coordinators and those expressing interest in benefits, referrals, and community resources.

Provide clerical and administrative support across the department.

Distribute outreach materials to community organizations and social groups via email and texting.

Assist in resource fair/event coordination and fulfillment.

Ensure all personal information collected and reviewed through the Outreach process is handled in accordance with privacy statements and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Certifications: Must have a High School Diploma/GED and valid Driver's License.

Experience: One year of customer service experience, preferably in telephone, on-line and in-person environments. Knowledge of and experience in public benefits and/or community resources, specifically within non-profit or social services preferred.

Skills/Competencies: Effective communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to represent MOFC with professionalism when interacting with clients, volunteers, community members, partners, and Food Collective staff. Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft applications, including Excel. Dual language a plus.
