Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating electrical costs for commercial and industrial projects, ensuring that bids are submitted on time and within budget. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, project management, and cost analysis to support our ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed cost estimates for electrical projects based on project specifications and blueprints.
Utilize quantity takeoff techniques to assess material and labor requirements accurately.
Prepare and submit bids for commercial and industrial projects in compliance with client requirements and NEC code.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project scopes and timelines.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential challenges and cost implications in project delivery.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms.
Maintain and update estimating databases and prepare reports on project costs and budgets using Microsoft Excel.
Review and analyze project bids from subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.
Support project teams during the execution phase by providing cost information and budget updates.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial and industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of NEC code and electrical systems design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel for estimating and reporting.
Experience with project management principles and practices.
Demonstrated ability in cost analysis and bid preparation.
Strong negotiation skills with experience in contract negotiation and vendor management.
Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in risk assessment and budgeting.
