Sr. Help Desk Technician
Location: BUMED HQ (Falls Church, VA) or BUMED DET (Jacksonville, FL)
Description: CORTEK is seeking a Senior Help Desk Technician to provide advanced end-user device (EUD) support at the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED). The Senior Help Desk Technician will handle complex technical issues, lead Tier 2 and Tier 3 support activities, and serve as a point of escalation for the help desk team. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide local Tier 2 and Tier 3 on-site support activities and elevate to Enterprise for Tier 4 support as necessary.
Lead hardware deployment/replacements, peripheral installations, and preventative maintenance for end-user devices.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems on Government-furnished equipment and systems reported by end-users.
Coordinate with equipment vendors to diagnose problems, perform troubleshooting, and install replacement components.
Ensure compliance of local EUDs with DHA STIG baselines and coordinate configuration changes with the ISSO.
Image local EUDs using SCCM Operating System deployments.
Support manual software installation, printer installations, and mapping.
Serve as a liaison for Multi-Function Device lease and maintenance contracts.
Provide guidance and mentorship to other Help Desk Technicians.
Job Requirements and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Information Systems, or a related IT field.
Ten (10) years of equivalent work experience.
Required Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP), ITIL v3 Foundations or current version.
Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II certification requirements.
Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and SCCM/MECM.
Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
Clearance:
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must possess a minimum of an active Secret security clearance.
