Davis County Senior Services is seeking Volunteer Medical Transportation Drivers to transport seniors to appointments for medical purposes. Transportation service may include rides to and from medical, dental, physical therapy, dialysis, chemotherapy, or picking up prescriptions from a pharmacy.
Drivers will operate a county-owned multi-passenger van or sedan, providing curbside transportation to people age 60 or older. Drivers will assist passengers in safely getting into and out of the vehicle as needed and help with loading/unloading wheelchairs, walkers and other personal belongings. Drivers do not accompany passengers into their appointments nor into their homes at the end of the trip.
Volunteer drivers may serve one or more days per week as desired. Drivers must possess and provide proof of current UTAH Drivers License and personal automobile insurance coverage. a CDL license is NOT required. Must pass a criminal history background investigation and drug screening and must have a clean driving record with no more than two moving violations within the last three years.
This volunteer opportunity is offered through Davis Co. RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) and is for volunteers age 55 or greater. We provide benefits such as reimbursement for your travel mileage between your home and the North Davis Senior Center, where County transportation vehicle is picked up, up to 200 miles per month. We also provide supplemental insurance while you are serving.
