Overview

The Safety Assistant (Contract) provides on-site support to the Safety Department for electrical construction projects located at the Atlanta Airport. This role works closely with the Safety Manager to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards while helping monitor daily operations, documentation, and worker safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the implementation of company safety policies and procedures on active job sites.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards.

Participate in site walkthroughs and inspections to identify hazards and verify PPE usage.

Document observations, track corrective actions, and escalate concerns to the Safety Manager.

Coordinate and support safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors; track attendance and maintain accurate training records.

Prepare safety reports, inspection forms, and compliance documentation.

Assist in recording accident, incident, and near-miss reports, and provide administrative support during investigations.

Maintain emergency response procedures, supplies, and drill documentation.

Monitor and distribute PPE; maintain inventory logs to ensure availability and proper usage.

Provide clerical and administrative support to the Safety Manager and project team.

Required Qualifications

Prior experience in construction safety or a related support role preferred.

Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety regulations; OSHA 30 or OSHA 510 preferred.

NFPA 70E training or experience strongly preferred.

CPR/First Aid certification required.

Electrical construction experience strongly preferred.

Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Contract Details

Full-time hours expected during project duration.

Some weekend work required.

No per diem available; local candidates only.

Primary work location: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
