Why Prince Edward Island?
Prince Edward Island is a valuable target market for the Make a Book project because of its strong literary tradition, close-knit communities, and emphasis on education. Known worldwide as the home of Anne of Green Gables, PEI has a deep appreciation for storytelling and publishing that aligns naturally with the project’s vision. The province’s small but engaged population makes it an ideal place to pilot community-driven initiatives, particularly through schools, libraries, and cultural organisations. PEI’s economy also benefits significantly from tourism, with visitors drawn to its heritage and stories, creating opportunities for both local authors and community groups to publish and share unique narratives. With its blend of literary heritage, educational strength, and cultural tourism, Prince Edward Island offers a meaningful niche market for the Make a Book project.
