AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
As the AIR6500 Program 2IC, reporting to the Finance & Business Operations Manager, you will oversee financial modelling, reporting and status updates for current and future contract scopes, drawing on program financials and EVM data. This includes ownership of all customer financial information from invoicing and cost reviews to rates, cost models and reporting while proactively managing financial inputs across the business to ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:
Analyse program financial performance and prepare reports for domestic management, US Line of Business, and the customer
Provide support to financial aspects of external engagements with customers and suppliers, including pricing, rates, structures, and performance
Lead development, maintenance, and reporting of program financial commitments, ensuring alignment with business models
Establish and maintain cost models for future contract phases in line with program and customer expectations
Track and model the financial impact of contract changes (CCPs) on baselines, long-range plans, and cost models
Support US leadership with financial modelling, queries, and program performance reviews
About you:
Extensive experience in financial management within complex project/program environments (ideally Defence)
Strong capability in cost control, budgeting, estimating, Earned Value analysis and financial modelling
Proven ability to build and maintain effective customer, supplier and stakeholder relationships
Expertise in negotiating and resolving complex financial/commercial issues
Skilled in developing strategies, supporting bids/proposals and experience in presenting complex financial insights to leadership
Special Requirements:
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.

This role can be based in our Adelaide CBD or Mawson Lakes office. Consideration will also be given to candidates located in Canberra or Newcastle.
