Estimator

Job Description

ABW has an immediate opening for an Estimator with experience in the custom metal fabrication industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services by performing the following duties.

Retrieves incoming bid packages

Creates material lists for a bid and locates sources and prices for the material

Creates labor estimates for a bid

Summarizes the bid package for the final evaluation by management personnel

Establishes and catalog’s historical cost data to create more accurate bids

Coordinates with Marketing as required in the preparation of bid presentation packages

Coordinates with the client in the resolution of bid questions or concerns

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
