ABOUT THE ROLE
Performs various tasks associated with maintaining the operation of the Lab and sampling system
and Quality Control. Performs various procedures, and prepares reports associated with the production and
testing of cement and associated products throughout the manufacturing process. Includes sample collection, analyzing samples, initiating corrective actions.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Follows all safety procedures, checks for safety hazards, takes correction action to eliminate safety hazards.
Collects samples at various phases of the manufacturing process, ranging from raw materials to final product.
Analyzes samples for appropriate chemical and physical parameters.
Records accurate information and statistics associated with all work performed. Makes operationalchanges based on analysis of data collected. Compiles reports of testing and interpretation of data as required. Performs all work in accordance with ASTM standard methods, if applicable.
Trains other technicians, and participates/facilitates team meetings.
Provides relief for other team members (includes vacation coverage and occasional required overtime).
Ensures product quality and quantity within assigned area.
Records accurate production statistics, such as mill & kiln temperatures, feed & fuel rates, equipment settings, etc. and assists with analyzing data to identify and solve problems.
Makes operational changes based on analysis of data collected.
Participates in formal and on-the job training programs to acquire/broaden both technical and nontechnical job skills; participates in cross training activities.
Interacts with members of Process Areas on a regular basis to gather or communicate information, solve problems, etc.
Adheres to plant environmental policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Assists with kiln outages and performs other work activities to support the Process Area Team.
Operates forklift, loaders, pick-up truck, jackhammer, and other industrial equipment as training allows.
Interprets and understands readings from Polab equipment.
Inspects Polab equipment assigned to him/her each shift in accordance with department policy.
Assists with preventative maintenance and repairs on Polab equipment.
Applies skills and performs work in other positions as assigned.
Works rotating shift schedule, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
Successful candidate will need to obtain level D water and waste water certification.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Education:High School Diploma/GED
Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree
Required Training/Certifications: Preferred completion of cement chemistry course
Required Work Experience: 2-4 years industrial experience
Travel Requirements: Less than 10%
Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills
Additional Requirements:
A good understanding of the basics of the cement manufacturing process is preferred.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
