Compliance Specialist
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
1. Develop relationships of trust and confidence with designated lines of business.
2. Research federal, state, banking and trust laws and regulations and assist in their interpretation and implementation. Align risk management practices with strategic goals and objectives. Keep up to date on new laws and regulations.
3. Assist with corporate policy and training development.
4. Assist in overseeing actions of comprehensive self-testing, independent third party and regulatory audits.
5. Make necessary preparations for trust audits or exams. Coordinate responses to external auditors and regulatory examiners. Ensure deficiencies identified from such audits and examinations are corrected.
6. Proactively identify process improvements or control gaps and facilitate necessary changes.
7. Ensure compliance risks are effectively identified, measured, monitored, controlled, and are consistent with the bank's risk appetite statement and all policies and processes are established within the risk governance framework.
8. Assist in drafting responses to regulatory inquiries and assist with responses to information requests and reviews by internal audits and regulators.
9. Participate in the review of new products, services, and pricing.
10. Educate and provide consultative advice on related regulations.
11. Identify and assess key compliance risks.
12. Perform targeted reviews or other risk assessment activity as deemed necessary by ongoing monitoring and reporting.
13. Operate computer software and equipment, telephone, scanner and copier. Expected to become proficient with internal bank and trust software. Required to gain knowledge including but not limited to: privacy, safeguarding customer information, trust compliance and trust regulations.
14. Adhere to strict privacy regarding customer account information. Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information confidential.
15. Arrive to work on time, work on-site and collaborate with other coworkers. Willingness to extend working hours where necessary to accommodate the completion of varied tasks on behalf of the customers.
16. Business travel is an integral part of this position. Therefore, a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle that can be used for business travel purposes is required.
17. Additional duties may be assigned or required by management.

Physical Demands
The employee must possess sufficient mobility to work in and move about in a standard office setting and sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Substantial time may be spent on the telephone and working on a computer, sitting and/or standing. Possess ability to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate events. Ability to hold a valid driver's license and possess a vehicle that can be used for business travel purposes. The employee must have the ability to hear and articulate well enough to carry on a normal conversation, both in person and over the telephone. Visual abilities required by this job include the ability to read materials in either a printed format or on a computer screen. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds. Mental Demands
The duties of this position require the ability to maintain attention to detail and complete work projects accurately in a short amount of time, despite interruptions.
