Talon Recruiting has partnered with a leading heavy-duty transit bus manufacturer. We are in search of a Bus Mechanic to join their team in Dallas, TX.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking skilled and experienced Mechanics to join our team. As a member of our team, you'll have the chance to work on a variety of tasks, from diagnosing issues to removing, repairing, and replacing various motor coach parts.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As part of your role, you will be involved in various tasks related to the maintenance and repair of coaches.
Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
Removing, repairing, and replacing drive line components such as transmissions, drive shafts, and differentials
Maintaining and repairing engine and body accessories, including heating and air conditioning components, alternators/generators, voltage regulators, and suspension components
Inspecting and repairing braking systems
Troubleshooting and fixing electrical systems and components
Performing seating, steering component, and glass installations
Overall, your responsibilities will involve ensuring that coaches are safe, reliable, and functioning properly. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Qualifications may vary depending on level of mechanic. Our team includes roles ranging from junior mechanics (no experience) - senior mechanics (5+ years of experience). Compensation varies depending on experience.
Specific certifications or licenses may be required for more senior positions. For example, Commercial Driver's License (with air brake and passenger endorsements) and/or EPA air conditioning certification
May need to furnish all small hand tools required to perform the functions specified above. Generally, this includes all tools at and below a " drive level
Proficiency in welding equipment, diagnostic devices (including DDEC and ATEC readers), A/C (Freon) recovery and charging equipment, and shop equipment (including hydraulic presses and rams, pullers, manometers, tachometers, decelerometers, VOA instruments, dial indicators, micrometers, reamers, hones, vacuum and compression pumps, brake lathes and other shop power tools) is an asset.
