Job Summary

The Quality Engineer leads quality assurance efforts across multiple customers and production lines. This role involves acting as the primary customer quality contact, overseeing product conformity, leading customer audits, and resolving customer claims and production line issues. The Quality Engineer is responsible for making decisions on stopping and restarting production, as well as overseeing the work of Quality Inspectors. Additionally, the role supports new product launches, ensures product compliance, and drives continuous improvement through audits, data analysis, and corrective actions.

Characterization of activities

Is responsible for front-line communication with OEM customers for quality related issues.

Helps improve customer satisfaction through meeting customer expectations in this area.

Reports scorecard performance from the portals of OEM customers.

Ensures the release process at OEMs (PPAP) according to the agreed OEM-specific Retention and Submissions tables.

Notifies customers of process and product changes for PPAP-approved products.

Liaises with OEM customers, handles complaints and visits customers for quality issues or required consultation. Records and follows up on all customer responses.

Initiates, based on OEM complaints, 8D activities and monitors the progress.

Contributes through analysis to the feedback of the obtained product and process information to the organization, initiates proposals for this (e.g. by creating an ECR) and/or gives input to 6 Sigma improvement teams.

Education, Experience And Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in engineering

Green belt certification

Must have - Demonstrated experience completing 8Ds, Fishbone, 5 Whys and other problem-solving tools

Must have - Demonstrated experience in the Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA)completion of Measurement System Analysis (MSAs)

Understanding of the IATF 16949:2016, preferably as an internal auditor.

Self-motivated and team-work spirit

Confident and willing to deal with problems and new tasks

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in the English.

Candidate must already reside in the Netherlands and have a valid work permit.

Salary based on knowledge and experience.

Full-time employment of 40 hours per week.

8% holiday allowance.

Travel allowance home-work: 23ct per kilometers one way up to a maximum of 50 km

CAO: Metalektro HP

Retirement: PME (Pensioenfonds Metalektro).

WIA: WIA floor, WGA gap and WGA gap additional insurances in accordance with the stipulated provisions.

PAWW: Compulsory supplementary insurance when the statutory unemployment WW or WGA benefit expires.

Holiday days: 27 days on an annual basis (full-time).

ATV: 13 days on an annual basis (full-time).
