CLASS 1 DRIVER

MONDAY to FRIDAY - 17:30 -19:00 STARTS

£17.50 - £26.25 PER HOUR

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in the Gloucester. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

Rates of Pay:

Basic: £17.50 per hour

Over 9.5 hours, you will get paid £26.25 per hour

Day to Day Duties:

Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

RDC or Brewery Deliveries no handball (working on curtain-side)

Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations

Deliveries of re-conditioned and new FLT trucks

Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly

Adhere to traffic laws and regulations

Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers

Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management

Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed

Essential Skills:

As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:

Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence

Have a minimum of 24 months experience driving CE vehicles

No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes

Have a valid UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card

Must be able to speak and read a good level of English

Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills

Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations

Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial

Previous experience in multi drop experience will be beneficial

Training:

Driver's Assessment will have to be completed

Driver will need to be fully assessed

D&A test carried out before the assessment

Full training given on the load, as the FLT’s are driving on to the ramp at the back of the trailer and then securing with rachet straps
