MONDAY - THURSDAY: 8.30AM - 5.00PM & FRIDAY: 8.30AM - 3.30PM

ANNUAL SALARY BETWEEN £32,000 - £35,000

Day-to-Day Duties

Provide day-to-day HSE support and guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees across the site.

Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Support the development and review of safe systems of work, method statements, and COSHH assessments.

Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for employees and contractors.

Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents; prepare reports, root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Monitor and report on key HSE performance indicators, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with UK legislation (e.g., Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR, Environmental Permitting Regulations).

Promote employee engagement and a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.

Support ISO management systems including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001.

Assist Head of HSEE with data collection on energy management and environmental compliance.

Conduct environmental assessments and audits to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.

Prepare environmental reports, permits, and documentation for regulatory agencies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote best practices in sustainability and resource conservation.

Keep up to date with changes in HSE legislation and initiatives.

Essential Skills

NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) or equivalent in Health & Safety.

Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation and best practices.

Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to engage at all levels.

Competent in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.

Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and methodical/organised approach.

Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.

Driving licence and ability to travel at short notice.
