As a vital member of our health care team, you will practice within the legal and ethical framework established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Standards for Nursing Practice. Your role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, effective communication, and ensuring quality outcomes through the YNHHS Professional Practice Model.
Key Responsibilities
Standards of Practice: Adhere to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice; perform assessments, diagnoses, develop individualized care plans, implement interventions, coordinate care, and evaluate progress to achieve desired outcomes.
Professional Performance: Engage in ethical and culturally congruent practice, effective communication, and collaboration with patients and the healthcare team. Demonstrate leadership and commitment to continuous education and evidence-based practice.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
Must obtain current BCLS certification within one month of hire.
Active RN license in the State of Connecticut; clinical specialty certification is encouraged.
Physical Demand
This role requires prolonged standing, walking, and the use of sight, hearing, and touch. Exposure to infectious diseases and various patient conditions are expected, including physical, mental, and emotional challenges. You should be prepared to assist in lifting and transferring patients weighing between five (5) and three hundred (300) pounds.
Additional Information
Endoscopy experience is required. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification are mandatory.
