Position SummaryThe Structural Fitter will lay out, position, and tack-weld metal components according to blueprints and build specifications. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all measurements, cuts, and alignments are precise before final welding. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong blueprint reading skills and experience in heavy structural metalwork.

Key Responsibilities

Blueprint Reading & Layout: Accurately read technical drawings to determine build requirements

Fitting & Assembly: Fit and align structural steel components using squares, levels, and other layout tools

Tack Welding: Secure materials in place using tack welds

Collaboration: Work closely with welders and fabricators to ensure smooth workflow

Measuring & Marking: Use tape measures, squares, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure quality

Material Handling: Assist in moving and securing parts using hoists and cranes (training provided if needed)

Quality Assurance: Inspect fit-up and alignment prior to final welding

Safety & Cleanliness: Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Requirements

Experience: 2+ years of experience in fitting or structural metalwork

Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout symbols

Tools Proficiency: Skilled with measurement tools and layout instruments

Welding Knowledge: Basic MIG or Stick welding knowledge (tacking only)

Physical Ability: Able to lift 50 lbs., stand, bend, and kneel throughout the shift

Work Conditions: Comfortable in non-climate-controlled, physically demanding environments

: Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply; English required for safety and instruction

Compliance: Must pass a clean drug screen and background check

Equipment: Steel-toe boots required
