Job title: SHE Advisor – Comms & Engagement

Location: Barrow-in-Furness – This role is on site

Grade: S4

What you’ll be doing:

Translate complex Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) information into clear, accessible communications, ensuring timely and effective dissemination across the business

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop accurate, engaging content that aligns with SHE objectives and strategic priorities

Support SHE teams in promoting key projects, initiatives, and achievements to enhance visibility and engagement throughout the organisation

Plan, coordinate, and assist in delivering SHE-related engagement events aimed at raising awareness and fostering a proactive safety culture

Contribute to the development and maintenance of strategic communications and engagement calendar, ensuring alignment with SHE priorities and business objectives

Your skills and experiences:

Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent qualification in health and safety

Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to tailor content to diverse audiences

Proactive and creative, with a proven ability to drive engagement through compelling communications and innovative event delivery

Confident in collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and adept at managing multiple priorities with a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Experienced in planning, coordinating, and executing events – ensuring high-quality delivery and alignment with organisational goals

The SHE Communications and Engagement Team:

Would you like to work in a team responsible for keeping everyone safe and healthy at work? As a Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Advisor, you will be involved in one of the most exciting engineering programmes in the UK, providing professional SHE advice to ensure safe construction and delivery of Nuclear Submarines. We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria
