As a Supply Chain Planner at Impulse, you will collaborate with the engineering, supply chain sourcing, and production teams to support the planning of materials and vehicle hardware essential for the design and manufacturing of our spacecraft. You will be responsible for master scheduling and demand planning at both the program and sub-assembly levels, ensuring the timely fulfillment of critical vehicle hardware and components that enable production.
Responsibilities
Maintain and manage BOM configurations and vehicle configurations
Investigate and resolve data integrity issues related to purchase orders (POs), receipts, inventory, revisions, work orders, and demand signals
Generate demand signals based on inputs from BOMs, inventory levels, lead times, build schedules, procurement activities, and open work orders to ensure production readiness
Oversee the detailed management of multiple top-level vehicle configurations in the MRP system and collaborate with component planners for sub-assemblies to ensure that demand signals are accurately processed and addressed
Drive strategic decision-making for sourcing, make/buy decisions, delivery schedules, and production timelines for both pathfinder builds and production ramps
Lead and manage New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts in collaboration with engineering, supply chain, and production teams to ensure build starts and support production, testing, and integration readiness
Make critical decisions for managing high-cost and long-lead components in early design phases, ensuring on-time delivery while minimizing expenditures
Support procurement activities, including quoting and PO issuance, when necessary
Monitor and verify receipts, purchase orders, inventory levels, BOM revisions, and work order accuracy to ensure clean demand signals
Collaborate with production and manufacturing engineering teams to align production and build schedules for pathfinder builds and ongoing products
Communicate status updates, action drivers, and blockers to all stakeholders, fostering proactive communication and teamwork
Maintain top-level assembly configurations for new designs and ensure that BOM configurations align with MRP
Work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to populate and maintain the bill of materials (BOM)
Oversee forecasting of parts from various teams and disciplines across multiple suppliers to ensure schedule alignment
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
4+ years of experience in engineering, material/production planning, operations, or master scheduling
4+ years of demonstrated experience working with ERP or inventory systems
2+ years of experience in procurement and vendor relationship management
Preferred Skills and Experience
6+ years of experience in purchasing, contract negotiations, material/production planning, or master production scheduling within a production/manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes related to mechanical components
Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Proven experience building dashboard tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on speed and accuracy
Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities
Experience with Lean or continuous improvement methodologies, or the ability to create tools that eliminate repetitive tasks
Self-motivated, quick to learn, and skilled at prioritizing tasks to meet both customer and company goals
Strong technical ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers in a fast-paced environment
Engineering skills that contribute to improving part quality, delivery, and cost
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with a high degree of self-motivation
Strong negotiation skills with proven results that meet or exceed goals
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Proficiency in technical tools and software (e.g., MS Office Suite, VBA, Smartsheet, SQL, Confluence, JIRA, Power BI)

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
