Solution Engineer

As a Solution Engineer, you will play a key role in the sales process by designing high-quality automated system solutions. You will collaborate closely with both customers and internal business units, from early concepts to detailed designs, ensuring the delivery of innovative and tailored solutions. You will work alongside highly skilled colleagues in a multi-national team, where collaboration and knowledge-sharing are essential.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the technical deliverables within solution design during the sales phase. From concept through to detailed design, you will guide the process across the four key stages: Analyse Process, Define Solutions, Select Solution, and Detail Solution.

You will also take the lead in producing high-quality proposals, ensuring the documentation gives customers clear insights into both the solution and Körber’s capabilities. Equally important, you will work closely with customers to establish strong, long-term partnerships and provide transparency throughout the process.

Your Profile

• 3+ years of experience in automation/materials handling industry.

• Technical background/education in engineering or automated systems.

• Strong CAD skills and solid understanding of requirements engineering.

• Experience with the end-to-end solution development/design process.

• Exposure to sales processes and proposal creation.

• Confident communicator with strong presentation and persuasive skills.

• Collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

• Agile, proactive, and comfortable making decisions under pressure.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

Expected Activities

On a day-to-day basis, you will be developing concepts, tenders, and offer layouts, while analyzing customer data to identify solution requirements. You will calculate the performance of automation equipment and systems, provide guidance on equipment selection, and act as negotiator both internally and externally.

A key part of your work will be to maintain accurate project cost calculations and documentation, while also leading the overall technical solution that is presented to the customer. You will actively participate in customer presentations and solution demonstrations, ensuring alignment with requirements and expectations, while also contributing ideas to improve processes, quality, and solution design.

Staying up to date with industry innovations and market trends will be an important part of your role, as well as fostering open and honest relationships to build long-term customer partnerships.

In this role, you will be part of Körber Supply Chain in the Northwest European region, primarily covering Denmark, Norway, and Sweden – with occasional involvement in other regions.
