Key Responsibilities:

• Mechanical design of fiber-optic pump packages and components

• Mechanical design of fixture/tooling and equipment for fiber-optic component manufacturing

• Generate conceptual design, layout, prototyping, bill of materials, piece part and assembly drawings

• Working closely with optical, process and device engineers for design optimization and NPI (New Production Introduction)

• Interact with vendors for piece parts specification, procurement, and quality assurance

• Select vendors and complete first article qualification

• Perform component qualification and generate reports

• Document engineering reports, engineering drawings, and equipment design specifications
