These images assist physicians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.

The Ultrasound Technologist ensures patient safety, comfort, and the proper operation of imaging equipment while maintaining a high standard of care and professionalism.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nPerform general ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and small parts imaging, as ordered by the physician.\nPrepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and positioning them correctly for optimal imaging.\nOperate ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic-quality images, adjusting settings as necessary based on the patient’s condition and the area of study.\nAnalyze images for quality and accuracy, documenting findings and preparing preliminary technical reports for physician review.\nRecognize and identify normal and abnormal findings, ensuring proper documentation of relevant anatomy and pathology.\nMaintain and sanitize ultrasound equipment and transducers following infection control protocols.\nCollaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive diagnostic information.\nEnsure patient safety by adhering to established procedures, including monitoring for adverse reactions and maintaining a safe environment.\nMaintain accurate patient records and comply with all legal, ethical, and organizational standards.\nStay updated on advancements in ultrasound technology and imaging techniques through continuing education.\n\n\nQualifications:\n\nEducation: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.\nCertification:\n\nRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.\nSpecialties in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN), or Vascular Technology (RVT) are highly preferred.\n\n\nExperience: Prior experience as an Ultrasound Technologist is preferred; new graduates from accredited programs may be considered\n Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID #33921442.
