Department: Parks & Recreation Department Reports To: Facility Operations Superintendent Location: Angleton Recreation Center Classification: B-25 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY This position supports the customer service experience at the Angleton Recreation Center, supervising and training part-time staff, and overseeing day-to-day facility operations.

In addition, this position supports front desk responsibilities, including cash handling for all sales, membership and rental management, enforcing rules and policies, and maintaining a working knowledge of current and upcoming events and programs.

This position serves as the morning supervisor, with a regular schedule Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and may include early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends as needed.

Work independently under the direction of the Facility Operations Superintendent.

Provide exceptional customer service for all Recreation Center members and guests.

Register customers for classes, memberships, and rentals; process payments, refunds, and adjustments with accuracy.

Manage all facility rentals, including scheduling, agreements, customer communication, and coordination with staff.

Conduct onboarding, training, and coaching for part-time front desk staff, including regular meetings and development opportunities.

Accurately operate registration and membership software; assist patrons with online tools and troubleshoot issues as needed.

Monitor access to the Recreation Center to ensure proper verification of membership or day-use.

Prepare and reconcile daily deposits to ensure accurate reporting and timely communication of discrepancies.

Promote recreation programs, memberships, and services through direct patron engagement and support City marketing efforts.

Support facility safety by monitoring use, reporting maintenance needs, and responding effectively to emergencies (First Aid/CPR/AED). Maintain equipment inventory, track supplies, and report needs to supervisors.

Actively participate in cross-department collaboration to ensure seamless operations and strong community service.

Provide equitable and inclusive service to all community members.

Regular and timely attendance at work.

Serve as backup coverage for vacant positions or during staff shortages to maintain a consistent level of service.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING (Certification/Licensure) The preferred way to obtain the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position is listed below.

The city reserves the right to allow substitutions if a candidate or incumbent exceeds requirements in one area but may be deficient in another.

Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree or higher in Recreation/Park Management or closely related field, 3 years or more of relevant experience, and training may be substituted for a degree.

6 months or more of supervisory experience preferred Minimum three (3) years' customer service and cash handling experience.

Applicants with significant relevant experience and training may be considered.

Special License, Certifications, and Designations Applicant must have a valid Texas Driver's License in good standing.

Current certification in First Aid and CPR, or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
