Exam Required: Dysrhythmia Exam (study guide available) Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown (7WE) team on a 16-week contract. This unit specializes in caring for patients with cardiac, surgical, and respiratory illnesses, requiring nurses who can think critically, adapt quickly, and deliver safe and effective care. Unit & Clinical Details:

Patient Types: Cardiac, surgical, and respiratory illness

Specialty Focus: Tikosyn loading unit

Drips/Medications:

Titrate only Cardizem & Heparin

Amiodarone drips common

RN primary assessment and IV push medications

Procedures/Equipment: Post-op drains, wound vacs

Not Performed: No arterial lines, tracheostomies, or ventilators

Staffing Model:

Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5 (days), 1:5-6 (nights)

Team nursing at times with RNs & LPNs

Charge RN:

Days - no assignment

Nights - full assignment

2-3 PCAs per shift

Unit Size: 26 beds, some private rooms Schedule & Contract:

Contract Length: 16 weeks

Shifts: Day and night shifts available (ratios vary by shift)

Ideal Candidate: Minimum of 2 years of PCU/Stepdown or related acute care experience Strong skills in dysrhythmia recognition and management Comfortable with cardiac drips and post-surgical care Able to work collaboratively in a team nursing environment About Medasource
