POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements clinical functions essential to the support of patients and families whose baby or child has been diagnosed with a terminal or life-limiting illness. Collaborates with referring providers, registered nurses, nurse coordinators, social workers, and other pertinent personnel to facilitate patient treatment plans and promote continuity of patient care within and outside of the hospital setting. Facilitates the outpatient Perinatal Supportive Care Services clinic scheduling and patient care plans to streamline and optimize the patient experience and business practice. Supports and maintains the Pediatric and Perinatal Supportive Care Services Care and University Health mission, vision, and values.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing is required. 1+ year experience in continuous hospital or medical clinical practice is required. Experience in palliative care, maternal fetal medicine, or neonatology is preferred. Functional knowledge of EPIC® software and Microsoft Office® applications is preferred. English/ Spanish fluency is highly recommended.
LICENSURE
Current LVN licensure in the State of Texas is required. Current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may be required based on location site
