Sr. Civil Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Compensation: $90,000–$140,000 base salary
Relocation: Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Sr. Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Houston, TX. This is a full-time hybrid role, requiring 3 days onsite per week, with flexibility to support both local and out-of-state transportation projects. The ideal candidate will bring 10–15 years of experience in roadway and bridge design, along with strong technical leadership, project execution, and client coordination skills.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of project delivery while working closely with multidisciplinary teams and internal stakeholders to drive high-quality infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
Lead and manage civil engineering design for transportation projects including roadway, bridge, and stormwater systems
Oversee project execution to ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and design standards
Prepare and review plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
Technical Leadership
Mentor junior engineers, CAD technicians, and support staff
Provide quality assurance and technical guidance across all phases of project development
Collaborate with internal teams across offices to ensure consistency in design and project delivery
Surveying & Utility Coordination
Support utility design and relocation efforts, working closely with licensed land surveyors and engineering staff
Coordinate right-of-way acquisition and assist in preparing necessary documentation for public infrastructure projects
Client Interaction
Serve as a primary point of contact for client communication and project coordination
Participate in progress meetings, respond to technical inquiries, and ensure alignment with client expectations
Strategic Support
Contribute to the development and success of the Houston office by supporting key initiatives and cross-office collaboration
Assist in expanding capabilities to support additional transportation-focused work across the region
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (Texas PE preferred)
10–15 years of experience in transportation engineering, including roadway and bridge design
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and OpenRoads (MicroStation preferred)
Familiarity with relevant standards such as AASHTO, MUTCD, and Highway Capacity Manual
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects independently
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with stormwater design, hydraulics, or utility relocation coordination
Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license is a plus
Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings or site visitsCompany Description
