We're seeking a Head Grower – Row Crop Vegetable Production to join the team! In this role, you'll be responsible for leading all aspects of vegetable crop production—from field prep to harvest—while ensuring optimal yield, quality, and sustainability. This is a hands-on leadership role managing crop schedules, team operations, agronomic inputs, and field performance data.

Responsibilities:

Develop seasonal and annual crop plans, including planting schedules and rotations

Select vegetable varieties based on soil compatibility, market demand, and performance data

Oversee all field operations: planting, irrigation, nutrient management, and harvest

Monitor crop health through scouting and diagnostics; implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) protocols

Conduct and interpret soil tests; manage soil moisture, pH, and fertility programs

Manage field staff and supervise safe use of equipment (tractors, sprayers, irrigation systems)

Track and analyze yield data, harvest timing, and quality metrics to guide planning and improvements

Maintain accurate records of inputs, rotations, field observations, and interventions

Collaborate with R&D teams to trial new varieties and cultivation methods

Recommend improvements to infrastructure, equipment, and practices to boost productivity and sustainability

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Crop Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred)

5+ years of experience in row crop vegetable production or greenhouse management

Strong knowledge of soil health, irrigation systems, nutrient planning, crop rotation, and pest control

Familiarity with IPM and chemical handling standards

Proficiency in operating farm equipment and interpreting agronomic data

Proven leadership experience managing field crews and seasonal schedules

Strong communication skills; bilingual proficiency is a plus

Physically capable of outdoor work in varying conditions (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, stooping, etc.)

Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends during peak seasons
