We are seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Quality Assurance and Control to lead quality initiatives across defense manufacturing, engineering, and systems integration projects. The ideal candidate will bting deep experience in defense-grade quality systems, regulatory compliance, product validation, and continuous improvement to ensure mission-critical systems meet or exceed performance and safety standards. This role ensures the integrity and reliability of defense products throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise on quality assurance and control systems, processes, and requirements in accordance with defense and aerospace industry standards.
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems (QMS), including compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and MIL STD requirements.
Oversee inspection and testing protocols for components, assemblies, and final products; ensure traceability and documentation accuracy.
Analyze quality performance metrics, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve non-conformities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams-engineering, production, supply chain, and program management-to ensure alignment with quality objectives.
Review and approve manufacturing process plans, test procedures, and product certifications.
Conduct supplier quality audits and evaluations; support supplier development and qualification activities.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements (e.g., ITAR, OFARS, NATO AQAP standards).
Develop training programs and mentoring plans to build internal quality capabilities.
Serve as a primary liaison during customer audits, government inspections, and third patty quality assessments.

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of quality assurance/control experience in the defense, aerospace, or high reliability manufacturing sectors.
Strong working knowledge of quality systems, auditing practices, and process validation.
Familiarity with defense industry standards such as MIL-STD-1916, AS9102 (FAI), ISO 9001, AS9100, and NADCAP.
Experience with quality tools and methods including Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and
80 problem-solving.
Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred:
Master's degree or advanced certification in Quality or Engineering Management.
Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Ce11ified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), NATO, or defense contractor programs.
Familiarity with digital quality systems (e.g., QMS software, PLM systems, nonconformance tracking tools).
