Position Summary:

The Wellness Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of resident wellness programs within the community. This role focuses on enhancing the overall well-being of residents by promoting physical, emotional, social, and intellectual health through organized activities and personalized care initiatives. The Wellness Director also supervises clinical staff (e.g., nurses, caregivers) to ensure high-quality care delivery and compliance with healthcare standards.Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision:

Supervise and support nursing and caregiving staff.

Conduct performance evaluations, training, and ongoing staff development.

Ensure adequate staffing to meet resident needs.

Resident Care & Wellness Planning:

Coordinate and manage resident health assessments and individualized care plans.

Monitor health outcomes and wellness trends to ensure proactive interventions.

Promote a culture of wellness through education and engagement.

Program Development:

Develop and implement wellness programs addressing physical, emotional, and cognitive health.

Organize group activities, fitness classes, educational workshops, and wellness events.

Collaborate with other departments to integrate wellness into all aspects of community life.

Compliance & Documentation:

Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., DOH, HIPAA).

Ensure accurate and timely documentation in resident medical records.

Participate in audits and quality assurance initiatives.

Communication & Family Relations:

Serve as a liaison between residents, families, healthcare providers, and staff.

Communicate changes in resident health or care plans effectively and compassionately.

Educate residents and families on wellness strategies and available services.Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Gerontology, or related field (Required)

Current nursing license required

Experience:

Minimum 3–5 years of healthcare or senior living experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role

Experience in wellness or life enrichment programming a plus

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and organizational skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Knowledge of aging-related health issues and wellness strategies

Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams

Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office SuitePhysical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Frequent standing, walking, and reaching

May involve occasional evening or weekend events
