The Role:
Cumming Group are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in our Dusseldorf office. As part of our ongoing growth in the German Project & Cost Management team, Cumming Group is seeking a forward-thinking Cost Manager in Dusseldorf with expertise in the Construction and Real Estate sectors. You will play a key role in expanding our German portfolio, with a particular focus on the refurbishment and repositioning of existing projects and business development. We are interested in candidates who are passionate about the residential industry, have an entrepreneurial mindset, and possess a strong track record of project delivery
Key Responsibilities:
The individual will be an integral part of a team that is accountable for the commercial and contractual performance of various projects
Provide cost management services through pre and post contract process
To support clients and the team in client presentation and new works
To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
Comply with established commercial/procurement/ contractual strategies
Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
Develop relationships with clients, consultants and contractors
Drafting, advising and executing the procurement strategies
Preparation of indicative cost budgets and appraisals
Preparation of elemental cost plans
Provide advice and opinion in respect of our client development plans and expectations
Market testing of key elements for the developments
Data analysis on design efficiencies, benchmark comparison
Preparing and issuing tender documents
Running tender processes including managing queries from tendering contractors
Managing change control in accordance with contracts
Producing cost reports and cost forecasting
Assisting project managers in preparing Early Warnings, Instructions and Compensation Events
Advising and liaising with internal project and cost control team
Developing Commercial Strategies
Qualifications:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
Strong technical delivery experience
Experience residential projects desirable
MRICS or working towards Chartered status
Excellent written and communication skills
Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
Experience of providing procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract services
Client facing, ensuring a high standard of delivery
A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
