Responsibilities
Application Management (HIMS)
Oversee end-to-end management of the Hospital Information Management System.
Coordinate with HMIS vendors for customization, upgrades, troubleshooting, and system integration.
Ensure modules related to patient care (OPD, IPD, Emergency, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Billing, Insurance, etc.) function effectively.
Monitor system performance, uptime, and usage analytics to ensure availability and reliability.
Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of data captured and compliance with NABH, NABL, and other statutory requirements.
Manage Mobile Health Applications to support patient engagement, teleconsultation, online reports, appointment booking, and digital health records
User Support & Training
Provide application-level support to doctors, nurses, administrative staff, and other end users.
Organize regular training sessions and workshops to ensure optimal use of software by all stakeholders.
Act as liaison between hospital departments and software vendors for process improvements
Maintain user manuals and SOPs for applications.
System Integration & Enhancement
Coordinate integration between various hospital applications and ensure interoperability.
Gather user feedback and propose enhancements or customizations to improve workflow and user experience.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with software vendors, service providers, and internal departments for issue resolution, updates, and new feature rollouts.
Track Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure timely support from vendors.
Data & Security Management
Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with healthcare data protection regulations.
Work with IT security team to ensure access controls, audit trails, and backup systems are in place.
Reporting & Documentation
Generate reports related to application performance, usage, incident logs, and system updates.
Maintain detailed documentation of workflows, configurations, issue logs, and project progress.
Develop dashboards and MIS reports for management on patient flow, revenue, clinical outcomes, and resource utilization
Qualifications
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in application support or health IT, including hands-on work with HIMS or similar hospital applications. Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is mandatory.
Required Skills
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of HIMS, EMR, LIS, PACS, and related healthcare systems.
Understanding of SQL databases, data analysis, basic scripting or programming.
Familiarity with HL7, DICOM, ICD coding, and integration protocols in healthcare IT.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage a team and work cross-functionally.
Problem-solving attitude with a user-centric mindset.
Preferred Skills
May require working beyond regular hours during application updates or system outages.
Role involves coordination between medical, administrative, and technical teams.
Must ensure availability of critical applications 24x7 in collaboration with the IT support team.
