Description:

We are seeking a Consultant- Hydraulics & Irrigation System Design Engineer with a strong background in civil engineering, specifically in hydraulics and water resources engineering. The candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and preparation of drawings for irrigation infrastructure such as dams, barrages, micro-irrigation systems, canal networks, and related hydraulic structures.

This Consulting assignment is for 6 months.

Key responsibilities, Knowledge and Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Water gem, or similar hydraulic modelling tools.

Design hydraulic structures such as dams, barrages, weirs, spillways, and intake systems using standard engineering codes and software.

Develop micro-irrigation system layouts, pipe network designs, and hydraulic profiles for efficient water distribution.

Prepare hydraulic modelling, flow calculations, and hydraulic grade line diagrams for irrigation and water management projects.

Develop detailed drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent design tools.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams including survey, GIS, and geotechnical teams for integrated designs.

Support the preparation of DPRs (Detailed Project Reports)

Participate in client meetings, site visits, and review discussions with stakeholders.

5-7 years of relevant experience in the design and drawing of dams, barrages, canals, micro-irrigation systems, and related structures.

Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, irrigation techniques, flow analysis, and pipe hydraulics.

Familiarity with WRD, CWC, Govt Guidelines, and state irrigation department practices.

Excellent technical documentation, report writing, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Water gem, or similar hydraulic modelling tools.

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, with specialization in Hydraulics or Water Resources Engineering.
