Senior Water Resources Engineer – Vancouver, BC

Full-time, Permanent Flexible Work-from-Home Policy

Compensation: $135,000 - $170,000 plus ANNUAL BONUS & EQUITY OPTIONS!

Our client is an employee-owned engineering consultancy specializing in water infrastructure planning and design. They are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their team in the Vancouver, BC office. This is a leadership role offering significant autonomy, influence, and the potential for equity ownership.

Must Haves

A degree in civil or environmental engineering with a minimum of 12 years of relevant industry experience

Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC

Extensive experience in civil/municipal consulting engineering, specifically in water resources

Proven ability to lead the design and delivery of water resources projects (e.g., urban drainage, stormwater management, flood assessments, erosion protection, channel design)

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget

Demonstrated capability in preparing and reviewing technical documentation (e.g., drawings, reports, specifications)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Fluent in English and legally eligible to work in Canada

Valid driver's license and access to a personal or shared vehicle

Nice to Haves

Experience supervising and mentoring junior engineers and technologists

Interest in business development, strategic planning, and expanding client relationships

Familiarity with modelling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, InfoWorks ICM, or similar tools

Previous experience contributing to organizational strategy and decision-making in a consultancy setting

Desire to pursue equity ownership in a growing firm

Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary water resources projects from conceptual design through to implementation

Coordinate technical teams and review deliverables to ensure high-quality outcomes

Maintain close communication with clients to manage expectations and project objectives

Track and report on project performance metrics, ensuring alignment with budget and schedule

Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and uphold best practices across projects

Support the development of strategic initiatives and proposals for new business

Actively participate in mentoring and team development efforts
