Elementary School Math Tutors – Make a Difference Every Day

About the Role

We’re seeking caring and enthusiastic Math Tutors to support elementary students (K–5) in Prince George’s County, MD. You’ll work with small groups of 1–4 students who need extra support in foundational math skills such as number recognition, fact fluency, addition, and subtraction.

Tutoring sessions happen during the school day, either inside the classroom (push-in) or in a small group setting outside the classroom (pull-out). We’ll provide you with the training and guidance you need to succeed—you bring the dedication and passion to help students thrive.

What You’ll Do

Teach and guide small groups of students in core math skills

Foster confidence and encourage a love of learning

Take daily attendance using your phone or school laptop

Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student progress

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (in any field). Note: anticipated graduation dates are not accepted.

At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in a school or educational setting.

Strong knowledge of elementary math concepts and skills.

Understanding of the challenges faced by urban students and communities, including social, economic, and cultural barriers.

Genuine passion for helping students succeed.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required.

Reliable and punctual, with the ability to follow schedules.

Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, teachers, and families.

Ability to commute to assigned school locations.
