Job Position Title Senior Quality Analyst
Job Summary
The Senior Quality Analyst ensures the integrity of quality and safety standards at our Veracruz site by managing all aspects of the Operating System (OS), leading audits, and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives. You will resolve quality issues, close Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs), and shape both short- and long-term Quality goals and objectives through expertise and leadership.
Job Responsibilities
• Serve as the site’s Quality leader and main point of contact for all quality management and compliance matters.
• Maintain and update Operating System (OS) documentation for the Veracruz site.
• Schedule, coordinate, and prepare the site for internal and external audits (including ISO, API, and ASME).
• Oversee timely follow-up and closure of findings and Corrective Actions/Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
• Manage and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) by implementing sustainable solutions in collaboration with project teams.
• Lead the NCR process, ensuring coordination, timely review, and closure.
• Lead and support CI programs, such as GEMBA walks and Quality Days.
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and provide data-driven reporting on quality issues.
• Lead Manufacturing Operational Reviews and QMR (Quality Management Review) meetings.
• Generate and manage Certificates of Conformance/Compliance (COCs) and handle customer quality cases (HMH Connect / Fresh Service).
• Develop and oversee inspection and quality plans for critical projects.
• Act as Quality technical advisor to management, employees, and functional teams.
• Partner and collaborate with local/global Quality teams on programs, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Foster an interdependent safety culture where everyone is responsible for their actions and workplace safety.
• Take ownership of Quality objectives, resources, documentation, compliance (ISO 14001 & API Q1).
Deliverables
• Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Coordinate the (NCR) process to ensure timely disposition and closure.
• Ensure Quality compliance with all HMH initiatives and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Lead initiatives for Continuous Improvement programs.
• Lead Scrap and Rework (S&R) reduction efforts.
• Prepare the Veracruz site to meet compliance requirements for internal and external audits.
• Maintain and update Operating System (OS) documentation to reflect current standards and practices.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in a related area.
• Multitasking and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication. Bilingual: English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, procedures, and legislative processes.
• Experience with management systems (API Q1, ISO 14001).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional-level experience. Proven Quality work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Quality, health, security, safety, and environmental certifications would be an asset.
• Emergency preparedness and response activities experience.
Desired Characteristics
• A minimum of 4 years in roles related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), with project management responsibilities, and an additional 4 years in QA/QC
• Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate, and lead broad and cross-functional teams
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Agile) preferred
• Experience in root cause analysis (RCA), process improvement, and nonconformance management
• Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher), Lean Manufacturing, or equivalent professional qualification
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI is a plus
• ISO 9001 QMS Lead Auditor certification or deep experience with API Q1/ISO 9001 audit requirements
• Experience with system integration (SAP, Windchill, Infobay) is desirable
• Ability to present complex, data-rich topics clearly, concisely, and persuasively
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
